- Shandong Cancer Hospital
Established in 1958, Shandong Cancer Hospital is a provincial-level cancer prevention and research center that integrates medical care, research, education, prevention, and health services across multiple regions. For 12 consecutive years, it has ranked sixth in the Fudan University Cancer Specialty Reputation Ranking and is the leading provincial cancer specialty hospital. The hospital has received more than 20 national and provincial science and technology awards and has undertaken over 140 major national projects. Numerous drugs and medical devices have been approved for market launch through clinical research, with many clinical research results included in domestic and international treatment guidelines. The radiation oncology team has led several multicenter clinical studies, achieving significant translational outcomes.
- The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University
Founded in 1937, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University is a comprehensive top-tier hospital integrating medical care, education, research, prevention, and rehabilitation, and is the largest hospital in southwestern Fujian. The hospital has 35 provincial and municipal research platforms, including six provincial platforms and 23 municipal research platforms, as well as six Xiamen University institutes. In Xiamen, it is the only cell therapy research center, the first clinical medical research institute in the city, and the first provincial and municipal clinical medical research center. In 2023, it ranked 38th in the comprehensive hospital category of the national GCP institution drug clinical trial volume ranking.
- Tongji University Affiliated Oriental Hospital
Established in 1920, Tongji University Affiliated Oriental Hospital is a large-scale comprehensive top-tier hospital integrating medical care, education, and research. The hospital has several scientific and technological platforms, including the National Foundation for Basic Sciences Center and the National Stem Cell and Major Disease Discipline Innovation Base, with 17 professional groups such as cardiology and respiratory medicine. The institution has undertaken over 500 clinical trial projects, including nearly 100 phase I clinical trials. Many research results have been published in internationally renowned journals such as Nature, Cell, and JAMA, and the hospital has received the National Science and Technology Progress Award (second class) and over 100 international and national invention patents.
- Peking University People’s Hospital
Established in 1918, Peking University People’s Hospital is a modern comprehensive top-tier hospital integrating medical care, education, and research. The hospital has multiple technical platforms, including the National Clinical Research Center, Ministry of Education Key Laboratories, and Engineering Research Centers. In 2023, it ranked fourth in the total number of clinical trials led by national GCP institutions, first among comprehensive hospitals, and 13th in the overall ranking. The hospital has received numerous awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and holds over 230 patents. Over the past five years, it has published an average of 300 SCI papers annually, ranking among the top medical institutions in the country.
- Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University
Founded in 1941, Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University is a large comprehensive top-tier hospital and a national regional medical center. The hospital’s Drug Clinical Trial Center is one of the first drug clinical trial institutions recognized by the State Food and Drug Administration in 1998. It has completed the registration of 94 drug/device clinical trial specialties, with 330 principal investigators. The GCP specialties cover internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, ENT, and psychiatry. In 2023, it ranked 13th among comprehensive hospitals and 22nd overall in the national GCP institution drug clinical trial volume ranking.
- Beijing Jishuitan Hospital
Established in 1956, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital is a comprehensive top-tier hospital integrating medical care, education, prevention, and rehabilitation. Since obtaining the qualification of “National Drug Clinical Trial Institution” in 2005, it has completed the registration of 27 drug/medical device clinical trial specialties. The hospital has led more than 120 high-level national projects, including the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation, formulated four national industry standards, and published four international guidelines. The hospital has received ten National Science and Technology Progress Awards and over 100 provincial and municipal awards. Over the past five years, it has completed 27 translational projects with a total value of over 200 million yuan.
- West China Hospital of Sichuan University
Established in 1892, West China Hospital is the world’s largest comprehensive single-site hospital and has the largest and first CAP-accredited medical laboratory center in China. The hospital’s national drug clinical trial institution is one of the 14 ministerial-level drug clinical bases first approved by the Ministry of Health in 1983. It has 38 clinical trial specialties registered with the National Medical Products Administration and 378 principal investigators. The hospital has 12 national and 45 provincial innovation research platforms and is the only medical institution in the country with a complete innovation chain and service chain from original target discovery to new drug screening, preclinical trials, clinical trials, and post-marketing evaluation. Over the past five years, it has undertaken the most GCP projects nationwide, ranking first in volume. The hospital has obtained 1,380 national projects, led more than 240 national and local government awards, and ranked first among medical institutions in terms of invention patent applications and PCT applications. In 2023, it was granted 1,009 patents.

Established in 1947, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is the first affiliated hospital established by Zhejiang University. It is renowned domestically and internationally for its strong comprehensive strength, high-quality medical services, and distinctive academic features. The hospital is one of the first “Guidance Type” national medical centers, a pilot unit for high-quality development of national public hospitals, the National Infectious Disease Medical Center, the leading unit of the comprehensive national regional medical center, a pilot hospital for establishing a modern hospital management system, and a construction unit for the Chinese and Western Medicine Collaboration “Flagship” Hospital Pilot Project.
